Important AUCTION Details to remember:
Bring:
1. A donation we can auction:
Rocks, jewellery, slabs, rock book, carving, anything rock related…something nice, please.
2. A plate of food: cookies, crackers/cheese, cake, squares. Hand-held food is best.
3. A box or bag in which to carry your winnings home.
4. Pen and paper to note whatever you might want to bid on.
5. Cash money - Items can be great bargains!!
6. Bring a friend. It’s a fun evening for everyone and the more people, the more exciting it is!
Setup starts at 5pm, doors open to the public at 6pm, auction starts at 7pm:
- sign the sign-in book please
-put your food on the food table
-put your donation on any one of the squares. If they are all full, add it to any square.
-grab a coffee and snack
-look over the rocks
- chat with the rockhounds around the auction table. It’s friendly and exciting!
How the Auction Works:
-We’ll start at 7pm. Find yourself a seat.
-Helpers will bring the rocks around to show
-Raise your hand high when you want to bid
-When you win a bid, go to the pay station. Your item will be there. Pay and take it back to your seat.
-Please go around the back of the room when you move to and from the pay station.
T-shirts, sweaters, aprons, canvas bags, mugs and more are available to purchase through our President, Jim. Order forms are available at the club.
We also have a special edition 60th anniversary logo you can add to any existing merch for a small fee.
We are excited to announce our cabochon competition has begun. We hope we can have a good time with a little cash incentive and bragging rights, to enter your best work. The contest starts now and will end at our meeting in September giving plenty of time to finish your cabs for entry.
Half of the entry fee* of $15, will go to the club (cost of slabs), the better half will go to the winners of each category. Three quality slabs of different types will provided in a brown paper bag that the entrants can choose at random.

Be as consistent as you can as the judging will be based on these parameters.
The freeform entries will be peoples choice and the cabochons will be judged by a member from a different club (TBD).
